Arkansas 2009

In January we spent a week in Arkansas visiting the newest member of our family Henry. It was my second time seeing my newphew but it was the kids first time to meet their sweet cousin. We ended up in an ice storm which took out the power for FOUR days and it was such an adventure. A memory we will never forget for sure. It also snowed so we got to play in front of the house and sled down the street. So much fun...we had a hard time leaving.

Look Who

Look who's playing football!

I heard this song today

and I was prompted to pray.

I sat there, saddness brewing,

while life ahead stood looming.

As if I'm in a waiting room

I wait for life to resume.

With each breath I exhale

I know I will prevail.

For, It's by the wind and the waves

that I've learned how to praise.

The Natural

Grace went to a party...it was a costume dress up party and they had a fashion show. My daughter on the cat-walk was a natural. Scary! She loves the camera and I think the camera loves her right back!

Another Birthday for Rob

Another birthday and it seems like we just celebrated the last one! The years go by quickly! We didn't do anything fancy. Just a few presents and some favorites. Robbie made one of Dad's childhood favorite recipes: Open-faced, sourdough, cheeseburgers. I made another one of Dad's favorites...Date rolls. And, since NO ONE else likes these 'date rolls,' Dad got them all to himself. I should add that Grace plugged her nose as she stood on the stool next to me while I made them. I have never EVER seen this girl plug her nose at any food before, EVER.

My Ringtone When My Marlowe Calls

It's Not My Time by Three Doors Down

Looking back of the beginning of this
And how life was
Just you and m
loving all of our friends
Living life like an ocean
But now the currents
slowly pulling me down
It’s getting harder to breath
It won’t be too long
and I will be the one under
Can you save me from this?

Cause it’s not my time
I’m not going
There’s a fear in me
it’s not showing
This could be the end of me
And everything I know
Ooohh but I won’t go

I look ahead to all the plans that we made
And the dreams that we had
I’m in a world that tries to take them away
Oh but I’m taking them back
Cause all of this time
I' ve been just too blind to understand
what should matter to me.
My friend, this life we live,
it’s not what we have, It’s what we believe in!

Cause it’s not my time I’m not going
There’s a fear in me but it’s not showing
This could be the end of me
And everything I know
But it’s not my time I’m not going
There’s a will in me and now I know
that This could be the end of me
And everything I know
Ooohh but I won’t go
I won’t go

There might be more than you believe
(There might be more than you believe)
There might be more than you can see

But it’s not my time I’m not going
There’s a fear in me it’s not showing
This could be the end of me
And everything I know
But it’s not my time
I’m not going
There’s a will in me and now it’s gonna show
This could be the end of me And everything I know
Ooohh

There might be more than you believe
(There might be more than you believe)
There might be more than you can see

But I won’t go
No, I won’t go down
Yeah

Fight Like A Girl!

Less than 24 hours from now...Marlowe will have her surgery. Please keep her in prayer. My MIL (mother-in-love) sent me this pin to wear and I love what it says, "Power Of Pink: Fight Like A Girl"

Please pray with me.

Some things don't change...like Grace's love for Sleeping Beauty.

LABOR DAY at Knob Hill

I am so excited to post a picture on my new and improved blog!! Thanks so much E-bug for making me pretty like you! I picked this photo to debut my new look. Aren't the children just beautiful!

First Day of School

Look at these cute kids!

We started school on Thursday, although we have been doing a little bit here and there for the past couple of weeks. It's very different to homeschool 4 kids especially since the last time I homeschooled, I only had 2 students! I see that I am going to have to invest in some well thought lesson plans for the year. Enjoy the pics of all these cuties! Aren't they getting SO Big!

Barry's Bday #12

A-Camping-We-Did-Go / High-Ho-The-Merry-O

We did it! We went camping and we made it home. If I were not so stinking tired, I would say more. But that is ALL for now!

In case any of you doubted how much my sweet Henry-ree likes his BrickBoy...here is the proof!
Isn't he the most beautiful baby (I mean Henry-ree, not BrickBoy of course). This was taken a few months ago, but I never tire of seeing it ;)
Now, I hear that he is rocking back and forth on his front arms and 'crawling' backward. It made me cry to think of him growing so much and I can't see it up close and personal.

Blueberries...not in season anymore. This is what 50 cents of Blueberries looks like!!
Yesterday, I couldn't help getting one last pack (since I love them on my cereal) and I paid $4.99 for 93 blueberries. YES! I counted them.

MEET Brick BOY!
This is brick boy. We bought him at Legoland...and he was the only one of his kind!

We shipped him off to my baby nephew Henry-ree and we hear they are best buddies.

We can understand why because we had some fun of our own with Brick Boy before he left.

Happy Birthday SixBit

I have been so full of thought today. I had plans today to do this and that but when we came home from dropping the boys at school...the dirt called. My mom had been germenating some seeds with Grace that I had bought to do. Pinky inspired me to do this after my last trip to her house. It was time to transfer some over to their own little pots. But when that was done, we started raking some weeds, then moved a withering gardenia into a pot for some shade. When I went to water, I found my bougainvillea plant was actually growing but wildly...so I took a trellis with a 90% dead star of jasmine out of the ground and moved it to where the bougainvillea was then worked really hard to get the two planted together and intertwined on the trellis. I kept thinking, I wonder if either will ever bloom? and if they do it will always remind me of this day, SixBits bday. I guess being in the garden was the best place for me to spend my day. My hands could be busy while my thoughts processed. So much loss, pain, grief, suffering...so much growth...spiritual growth.

"How can He (God), in giving Him (Jesus), lavish on us all things." Rom 8:32

He can't help but to lavish us with good things, having already given us His greatest.

And, so, even this untimely suffering is perfect timing and a good thing from the very hand of God. I beg the Lord for sweet mercies to fill this day for my loved Bug family!!!
